Tear one ACL your Junior year after two games and tear the ACL in the other leg the following year. Played a total of 2 games the past two years. Most kids would have given up but she’s not like most. Best of luck Erika as you head to Bridgewater. They are getting a good player, but more importantly they are getting a great kid!

Northwood girls basketball erased an early first half deficit to defeated Apex Friendship, 47-42, to claim the Lee County Christmas Classic championship game. Sophomore Jyreah Smith was named the tournament’s most valuable player.

2016-2017:

- Kadie Snipes and Kristian Eanes were named all conference and Chandler Adams was named honorable mention.
- In addition, Kadie and Kristian made the District 8 Team. Kristian was selected as a first team member and Kadie was selected as a second team member.
- Kristian Eanes' 1500 career points made her the all time leading scoring at Northwood! She was awarded as one of the three 2017 Northwood High School Female Athletes of the Year.
- Kristian also represented Northwood in the 2017 East-West All-Star Games on July 17th in Greensboro Coliseum.
- Congratulations to Kristian Eanes for being named WRAL Extra Effort Athlete of the week which aired on November 23, 2016. See the video here
- Lady chargers tied for 1st place in the conference during the regular season
- Placed 2nd in the Conference tournament
- Lady Chargers made it to the 3rd round of the State 3A playoffs
- Kristian Eanes made 2nd Team All-District
- Jazane Billings and Bryn Aydt made 3rd Team All-District
- District Coach of the Year - Coach Cameron Vernon
- Kristian Eanes, Jazanae Billings, and Bryn Aydt made All-Conference Teams
- Jasmin Atkins and Erika made Honorable Mention for All-Conference Team
2015-2016 Season Highlights
ACL surgeries in each leg couldn't stop her. Jazmine Atkins signs a full basketball scholarship to University of Mobile. Will major in Biology. Congrats Jazmine Atkins we are all proud of you!

Great Friday night as Northwood defeated Orange 55-34.
Seniors went out in style in their last regular season game. Kristian scores her 1,000 career point. The cheerleaders and women's basketball team raises $95.65 in donations to send to the Kay Yow Foundation. Proud to be a Charger! |
Great Christmas tournaments by the JV and Varsity girls teams. JV takes second in the Bank of Carolinas and varsity repeats as the champions of the Yellow Jacket Invite. Great time to be a charger!

In the 2014-2015 Season, the Lady Chargers who made it to the third round in the NCHSAA State Tournament and finished the season 22-5.
The girls played hard in an exciting 3rd round game that ended in a last minute heart-breaking loss to Eastern Wayne High school (#1 Eastern Bracket Seed).
